Prepare music for sale without skipping the rights check
Commercial permission, copyright protection, and platform acceptance are separate questions.

Before offering a track, record its source materials, generation history, subscription status, permitted download, human contributions, and destination policy.
Suno requires a permitted download for commercial use. Its October 6 guidance distinguishes remixes of your own original work, which can qualify through a paid download credit even if the original was made free, from remixes of another creator's work, which cannot be monetized. Free generation alone does not grant commercial rights. Commercial permission does not guarantee copyright protection or acceptance by a distributor. Review Suno's content and voice licenses before uploading client material.
Distribution is another check. DistroKid accepts music made with AI tools subject to rights, anti-impersonation, infringement, and anti-spam requirements. Its upload flow asks which lyrics, music, or audio were AI-generated and, for fully AI-generated audio, whether the artist is human or an AI persona. Complete these disclosures accurately. Bandcamp prohibits music wholly or substantially generated by AI.
For client work, define the deliverable, permitted uses, disclosure, revisions, and rights limits before accepting the job. Do not promise exclusivity or ownership you cannot establish. Sell useful creative work, not guaranteed streams or revenue.
